to listen to what makes me, me.This is what I want to discuss: how much does the music we listen to affect how we talk, act, and view the world? Does it really change us that much? Can the input of Rap make us more Thuggish, Rock and Roll produce in us a more rambunctious, care free life style, classical music more elegant, or a love song more poetic in nature?
Let me ask you this, what song is in your head right now? Does that influence how people view you?
Music is more than just entertainment. It has the power to shape our styles. It has the power to form our cliques in school. It picks who we call friends, our favorite TV channels, what interests us, and most of all it identifies our personality to the world.
Music. It can shape an entire generation!

You're absolutely right. Music is such an important part of everyday life. Apparently, even God thinks so. Look at the fact that he has entire books of the Bible dedicated to song. (The Song of Solomon and Psalms)
ReplyDeleteGod desires our praise through music. Over and over again in Scripture we see God's people singing and playing instruments to praise His name.
I know that for me, music can definitely affect my mood. Or rather; the mood I'm in affects the music I listen to. You can look over time and see how music shaped generations and decades at a time. Just look at the classifications of music we use: 60's, 70's, 80's...
Now today, music seems to be as eclectic as we are. There doesn't seem to be a set theme to follow, music expresses so many different thoughts and ideas.
So here's my question: does music influence us or do we influence music? Which is more prevelant? Does it matter?
